1. Creating Ideal Learning Environments

What constitutes an ideal learning environment? Does it exist? Can it be achieved? This hands-on, experiential workshop asks participants to engage in some accelerated action research to come up with some answers. Be prepared for feverish activity and peaceful reflection, ordered process and structured chaos, rational inquiry and deep sensitivity, group bonding and heroic individualism.

2. Stories and Other Secret Strategies for Success

Have you ever wondered what it is that great teachers and great leaders do that creates a culture in which people want to follow, participate, and learn? Have you ever considered that there might be some simple patterns that allow them to do this? This presentation/workshop explores ways in which story and metaphor can assist in managing our classes, our colleagues, and others with elegance, respect, and a lot of fun and creativity. The presentation will also consider the importance of personal authenticity and of working through and within the values systems of others.

3. Modelling Excellence

There are three core components to a good lesson or seminar: the stuff to be learned; the process of learning; and the particular needs of each individual learner. This workshop explores how the excellent teacher combines all three for excellent results and accelerated learning.
